How does BillsTrust ensure the accuracy of my bill processing?

All bills go through a series of checks by human and electronic 'eyes'. This ensures that all relevant bill payment details are recorded accurately. The bill is then scheduled for payment in our system. BillsTrust's priority is ensuring you maintain a healthy relationship with your billers, so we will contact them to clarify their preferred payment and remittance methods. A search is also undertaken to ensure a new Biller is a registered legal entity. If key bill information is missing, BillsTrust may contact the biller or account contact for clarification. In the case where the bill has no specified due date or invoice terms, BillsTrust will assume 7 day terms.
When are my bills paid?

To ensure payment reaches a biller in time, we will draw funds from your account 2-4 business days before a bill is due, depending on your preferred payment method. If your preferred payment method is unsuccessful BillsTrust will have time to draw funds from your backup payment method, still paying the bill in time. If an overdue bill is submitted to BillsTrust or is within 4 business days of the due date we will pay the bill asap.
What is BillsTrust and how does it work?

BillsTrust is for busy and active people who have better things to do with their lives than having to remember when to pay bills. Many people these days get on average 12 bills a month, and depending on your interests and whether you own investments, this number can increase - leading to hassles and headaches when it comes to paying the bills.
How does BillsTrust make my life easier?

When you receive a bill, any bill, simply attach one of the stickers we supply and fax or scan it to us. That's it. Stop looking for the chequebook, envelopes and a stamp. Forget about missing payment deadlines and risking late fees. Even better, by logging in you can see exactly where your money is going, find out what's due and what's been paid. All the records are kept for you, even copies of the bills themselves, so you don't even have to do any filing.
How do I get my bills to my BillsTrust account

BillsTrust is flexible in how you can quickly get your bills to your BillsTrust account and out of your hair. When you join, we'll send a welcome pack showing all the available methods of sending your bills and you can choose the approach that suits your cirmumstances and equipment you already have, whether by iPhone app, scanner, email or fax. If you send via the BillsTrust SnapPay iPhone application, it's as simple as taking a picture of your bill and choosing which account you want it paid from. If you own a scanner (for high volume we recommend Fujitsu ScanSnap, it's fast and fun), you can scan your bills and email them to your secure email drop box, which you can authorise for payment later; or alternatively you can attach a special personalised barcoded sticker that is unique to your account and serves as a bill pre-authorised to be paid. If you choose to fax your bills, you'll need to also use a personalised barcoded sticker that is unique to your account - your can use any fax machine that's available to you (perhaps at work or next door).
For a small charge we can supply you with a fax machine or scanner when you sign up, or you can purchase any fax machine or e-mail capable scanner from your favourite supplier.
Can I photograph a bill with any camera phone when using the 'Snap & Email' method?

Phones with high resolution cameras provide the best result - the test is if you can read the text on your bill then we can, just make sure the photo is taken in good lighting conditions.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Can I send BillsTrust any bill that I get?

Yes. Printed, hand-written, on special forms, torn from statement books - however they come, we'll look after them for you. It does need to be readable, but provided you can make it out, send it to us.
Why do I need barcoded stickers, what happens if I run out of them?

If you choose to pre-authorise your bill payments by email or fax, we provide you with special identification stickers which track every document through our system, so you can always see what is happening. There is no extra charge for these stickers, and we automatically send you more when we notice that you're getting low - you don't have to lift a finger!
Where does my bill go?

Your bills are stored securely - it's like your own personal bill archive. Instead of keeping lots of pieces of paper you can log in and view a bill any time, even printing a copy if you need to.
How do I know my bills will be paid on time?

You can log in any time and see the due date we have recorded. We make sure payment is delivered by the due date, and you can choose to have an SMS and/or e-mail notification on the day we pay, just to make sure.
Can I pay a bill a bit later if I need to?

Yes, you are in control. In our Business and Ultimate Plans, you can adjust the date on which we pay any bill, setting it to be paid a certain number of days after the original due date, or for payment on a specific date. This is a great help if your cash is a little bit tight sometimes.
What happens if I send you a bill past the due date?

This is the one time we won't be able to pay it for you by the due date. If this does happen, we'll fast-track the bill and pay it as soon as it can be paid.
How do I know when a bill has been paid?

You can select from a range of notifications, including receiving an SMS message. Also, you can check the website at any time - it is always completely up to date and shows you bills still waiting for payment, and those which have been paid. For paid bills, you can see when the payment was processed and the payment method used for complete peace of mind.
What happens if I don't have enough money in my account to pay a bill?

Oh, don't worry, we'll just pay the bill for you. Oops, no, we wish we could, but we'll let you know if for some reason the necessary funds aren't available. We'll work with you to find some way to get the bill paid.
Can I have separate accounts for my business and my personal bills?

Yes. All account plans allow you to setup two or more Account Groups, so you can organise your bills for multiple purposes or payment types.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. Our monthly plans include all the items listed in the plan detail. If you choose to pay bills using your credit card, there are unavoidable merchant service fees, which we will pass on to you as a 1.9% fee for Visa/Mastercard or 2.9% for AMEX. Of course, most people choose to pay their bills using our Bank Transfer method, for which there are no additional fees. Other than that, use of BillsTrust within our Terms of Service has no further costs from us.
